The Artist

Joel Jackson is a wildlife artist living in Minnesota.  He was born in Tanganyika (Now Tanzania) in 1949 and through the years has maintained a sporadic connection to those East African roots.  His interest in wildlife stems back to his childhood in East Africa during a time when wild game was still abundant, even outside the confines of national parks.  Since moving to the United States he has traveled around the country, always eager to search out the wild places that might offer new material for his wildlife paintings.

A computer geek who spent much of his adult career working as a micro-computer specialist and network engineer he has found a way to meld his artistic talents with modern technology as his medium.  He now creates wildlife paintings on a digital canvas.  These are not computer generated images but are hand-painted brush-stroke by brush-stroke on a blank canvas which just happens to be a computer screen.  The completed graphic images are then printed professionally as Fine Art Giclée Prints on canvas and on quality archival fine-art paper.
